El W422 AMRD Grupo B es un dispositivo de seguridad personal extremadamente pequeño y liviano, que opera en el canal 2006 (160,9 MHz), completo con posicionador GPS. Se puede llevar alrededor del cuello a través de una antena flexible cubierta de goma de silicona o enganchar directamente al chaleco salvavidas o al bote salvavidas.
Para utilizar este dispositivo es necesario equiparse con el receptor W406 adecuado, que se instalará a bordo.
El dispositivo puede ser activado manualmente (pulsando el botón grande) o automáticamente a través de los sensores de agua. La dotación de seguridad incluye un indicador luminoso de alta eficiencia.
Este MOB cumple con los requisitos de AMRD Grupo A.
