Meeting in IMCC Bari

Wamblee recently successfully completed the certification process for its Cospas Sarsat maritime emergency signaling systems, specifically the W100 EPIRB product.
Wamblee is the first and only Italian company to have obtained this Cospas-Sarsat product certification.
COSPAS-SARSAT is an international satellite system designed to assist search and rescue operations, developed by Canada, France, the United States, and Russia. Numerous other countries around the world, including Italy, have joined the system. The system aims to rapidly provide location data of vectors in distress to teams engaged in SAR (Search and Rescue) operations. Rapid intervention by SAR teams increases the survival rate of those involved. Furthermore, locating an incident reduces both the costs of operations and the risks to which search and rescue teams are exposed.
Italy joined the international organization COSPAS-SARSAT in 1988 as a Participating Country. Through the Mission Control Center, air, sea, and land distress signals received from the Local User Terminal (LUT) satellites are transmitted to the SPOCs (SAR Points of Contact) for subsequent rescue operations. The service area assigned to Italy includes, in addition to the Italian SAR area, those of Central Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean, parts of Middle Eastern Asia, and parts of Central Eastern Africa, from latitude approximately 5° South to latitude approximately 50° North.
The Italian entity managing this service is the Presidency of the Council of Ministers – Department of Civil Protection, in collaboration with the General Command of the Port Authorities – Coast Guard.
“We are obviously proud of this achievement,” stated Daniele Banfi, CEO of the company, “and we are particularly grateful to Cospas-Sarsat for the trust placed in our company.”
“We would also like to extend our thanks,” continued Daniele Banfi, “to Commander Pantaleo Dell’Olio (pictured in the center) and to all the civilian and military personnel of the Italian Cospas-Sarsat Satellite Station in Bari—located at the Naval and Coastal Station—who assisted us during the certification tests.”
